Someone to Lava Blender Sculpt

This method of just sculpting the whole thing is not what I’d call my usual way of working. In this case I’d probably work with a low resoluion mesh and add texturing with a displace modifier, so that the low poly mesh remains. But this sort of thing is still a functional way to work, especially for little one-off projects like this, so it’s good to know the techniques.

As I’ve been working on videos for this new channel I’m starting to come to a realization of how these videos could most effectively educate and entertain.

Mostly by doing it the wrong way.

I had a very interesting conversation this week with someone who I didn’t expect would be as useful as he was. That is to say it was someone who found me through my Blender content and was asking for help. I was happy to provide it, and it turned out he had a lifetime of industry experience in animation. I’ve been interested in animation for the purpose of telling a story with the Chibimals, and my conversation with him was enlightening. Not that I need another project right now, but after talking with him, I may start working on the Chibimals some more in the background. Maybe some of them will even make it into these videos. We’ll see.
