Check out Blender for 3D Printing
In making a video there’s often things you want to say, but that you have to cut, either because they don’t go with the flow or they don’t fit tonally, or they’re distracting from the point. As in the past, this blog is where I get to address those things.
If you want to blame anyone for me turning over a new leaf as far as taking money for videos, you can blame Joel Telling the 3D Printing Nerd. It was at ERRF in line for a slice of pizza that he, in an almost off hand way, suggested I tell manufacturers to sponsor projects on my channel. It was a great idea, and immediately resonated with me. Though I have to admit I’m still not 100% sure of myself in this new territory and I’m probably making a dozen mistakes. But I think I’ll be better off for it.
And for the record, Blender for 3D Printing is 100% open to sponsorships opportunities. I still don’t see myself selling out to Raid Shadow Legends or the like, but if a reputable company approached me and asked me to do an ad read, I’ve already decided my answer.
Of course Blender for 3D Printing needs a few viral videos before that’ll happen.
One more thing that I’ve been trying to address for the past few months is that darned ratty garden shed. The Low Poly Dinos was suppose to fund fixing that thing up, but after the funds dropped I started adding up the cost and realized the things I wanted to do were way outside the range of affordability, so instead I upgraded my recording equipment. New cameras, new lighting, new sound equipment. So instead of making a set that looked better, I made it so you could see it better. I stand by the idea that it was a good investment,. but, with wanting to make a more usable 3D printer space in the shed, I’ve returned to wanting to fix it up, and as a result I’ve started work on a couple of projects. Expect that to take a little while to get sorted, but just know, it’s on the forefront of my mind.
Along with everything else.
Thanks for an amazing couple of years, a better 2022 that I deserved, and here’s to 2023 being another great year to look back on.
