Modeling a Chibi pumpkin in Blender 2.8 Twitch highlight Video

Watch on YouTube

I decided to make re-upload this morning’s live stream to YouTube so that hopefully more people will see that I’m on twitch on Monday mornings.

Honestly, I’m super pleased with this stream overall. I could get the sound levels a little better, but I started and finished a model (mostly) in one stream, and even got to show off some advanced features like shape keys.

One thing I forgot to mention in my sick haze (which I am currently writing this as the Benadryl kicks in, so let’s hope it doesn’t divulge into nonsese before I finish) is that I’ve also been busy rigging a few chibimals with simple skeletons so I can pose them. So far I’ve had great success and I’m very excited that the Chbimals are no longer just symmetrical, staic poses. This really brings life to the models, not to mention opening up the possibilities of using these models in other media and really getting into the story and lore of Chibimals. The one downside to the poses that I see is that it makes putting accessories on a little more difficult. Just a little.

I worry I’ve gone too far. Do you all prefer the Chibimals in their original static poses, or do you agree with me that this brings them more to life? Let me know wha tyou think so I can tell if I should keep following this course of action.

If you are a patreon backer, these posed models and the jack o lanterns are already available, so go check them out. I plan to explore uploading maybe a few of the pumpkins for free online, but there’s a lot I have to do for that. Does anyone want to be my MyMiniFactory upload intern?
