Small confession, I never saw the Godfather. I hope it’s not in poor taste putting his head on Marlin Brando.
In a lot of ways, this was the entire point of me going to ERRF. Getting to meet Dr Bowyer (and learning to pronounce his name right, finally) was great. Thanks again to all my chibimal backers.
When Dr. Bowyer was about done with the first day of ERRF, he came out to the floor looking for me. First of all, I was surprised he was able to walk the floor without being mobbed, but then I realized most people don’t know who he is. Here was a room full of people all playing with the technology he put into their hands, and he was able to walk through that room without being mobbed. That either speaks very highly of the manners of this crowd, or very highly of the low profile he’s kept.
But he took the time to take me aside and give me the chance to talk with him for a few minutes, which turned into nearly an hour. I didn’t expect that. Quite frankly if the only thing I would have gotten from my time at ERRF with him was a selfie and few minutes after his talk with everyone else there, I couldn’t have asked for more. But that wasn’t good enough for him. He knew I wanted to talk to have an interview with him, and he saw to making it happen.
Thank you Dr. Bowyer. This is a memory I will always cherish, and one I am very happy to share with all of you.
