3DBenchy’s Laywers are killing our fun! I’ve never been a fan of the Benchy model, either as a benchmark or as a model. But even I have to admit that them taking down the remixes is a bad move. Why are they doing this and what can we do about it?
I edited out a bit in this video where I suggested getting a stack of Bibles, Book of Mormons, a copy of the Quoran, and whatever else people wanted to promise that I’d never sue anyone for printing or remixing PrintABloks. But if that’s what people want, I work in a library, I’m sure we have a copy of those things.
This video was hastily produced, rapidly edited, and designed to capitalize on a specific moment. However, I have been working on a video since before the new year that I actually had to edit because of this situation. Before that it was delayed because of a nasty head cold. However, I may finally release that video early next week.
I am really hoping this is the year of PrintABlok. I want this to be the bear it finally catches on. Heck, if it were to become the default print on 3D printers, I’d be thrilled.
