3D Builder Alternatives now that Microsoft is killing 3D Printing

Big thanks to SlicePrintRoleplay for making an installer available to the community.

It seems that Microsoft’s distain for 3D printing is deeper than initially thought. If you missed your chance to get 3D Builder, don’t despair, there are a few alternatives you can still use.

I still have no idea what Microsoft’s endgame is here. Why buy netfabb, then kill it? I know that Microsoft and Autodesk have a sort of alliance. Could that be it? Even so, this is a pretty petty thing to withhold, especially with most modern slicers doing a pretty good job of turning reasonable meshes into 3D prints. It just makes me scratch my head.

My mistake from the previous video was approaching it from the “Well, it works for me” perspective. And, to be fair, I don’t know how else I could have approached it. But having so many people unable to take the recommended action led to my most ludicrously successful video in a long time, possibly of all time. Like, seriously, I gave up on keeping up with the comments.

But I wanted, with this video, to answer all of the “well, you could try X” from the comments of the previous video. Which is probably going to result is a much less successful video. C’est la youtube. But I hope people do see this one. I wish there was a way to tell YouTube “Tell everyone who commented on that video to watch this one.”
