Flashforge Adventurer 5 Review

Watch on YouTube

Incase you didn’t realize it from the video, I’m keeping the Adventurer 5m Pro. In fact I’m selling the Adventurer 3. That’s how committed to this machine. And if I can talk the makerspace into upgrading, I’m gonna commit to a whole bunch of them. The Flashforge Adventurer 5m Pro is no my choice for quick prints.

I’ve been using the term “next gen” in the past couple of videos to describe the sorts of 3D printers that have come out to compete with Bambu Labs. Fast, fully assembled, and easy to use. However, I hate to use relative terms like this to describe things. Because when the next next gen comes out, this will be the last gen, and the last gen will be 2 gens ago. But what’s the alternative? Maybe we need to come up with names for the generations. Like:

  • The RepRap kicked off was Gen R.
  • Then Makerbot and Prusa was Gen ©.
  • Anet started Gen 中国 which Creality eventually dominated.
  • Then BambuLabs changed the game with Gen B.

Or maybe we should just use Greek letters or something.

This also makes me wonder what’s next, but I’m too busy enjoying the current generation right now.

Fun fact, my daughter held the camera for the reading break. I think she really nailed the rule of thirds, but I need to teach her a little about filming a little too much at the start and end and leaving it for the edit to cut things off. She almost didn’t give me enough footage to work with.

Meanwhile, I’ve been busy making stock for Cute Cthulhu and Friends. I’ve almost got a full stock of all the characters, but then I need to figure out how to sell them. This is a whole new set of skills I’m having to learn.
