Fun fact about that silly opening: I actually tried doing a very lazy laser effect (I make rings of light fly from my finger) and it was way easier than what I did with the self-deprecating joke. But self-deprecating humor is hilarious.
Laser cutting has slowly been creeping it’s way into my regular making workflow. It’s a tool that’s actually a lot more useful than I sometimes give it credit for. However, I haven’t had one at home I could use, and now I have 2! Though, I’m probably only going to be able to keep one. Not sure what I’d even do with 2 of them, even if I had the space.
While I avoided the comparison to 3D printing, laser cutting does actually have advantage over 3D printing in some ways. It’s faster, for one. And for another…. um… well, it’s faster, and isn’t that what everyone wants?
I may, however, be doing some more laser related content, especially around how to setup and use the tools. But I’m still 3D printing, so I don’t have to change the name.
If you’ve been wondering why it’s been so long since my last video, now you know. 25 minutes of Laser reviewing goodness, this video was a beast to produce. Never mind the fact that that’s a lot of video in and of itself, but I failed to record video on the first part, so I had to re-record that, and never mind that I also forgot to record a conclusion and had to record that after the fact afterwards. Though that last one I’m a little glad I did because I realized I could add a plug for my premium models on Printables, Thangs and Patreon, and that may quickly become the de facto ending of my videos in 2024.
However, while working on this video I actually brought to filming completion 2 more videos that I only need to edit and upload. Is this me starting off 2024 with a backlog? I guess a little, yeah. This is new for me. I don’t know if I will keep it up, but here I am. It’s almost like I’m a professional or something.
