The Creality K1 really has become a part of the gamily. Honestly, the only thing holding it back from being a contender for a Bambu killer is the fact that it can’t do multi color. But that’s it. I love printing from the app. I love printing from the USB stick (something Bambu could learn from). My only regret is that this printer merits so much comparison to Bambu. After editing I still thing I brought up Bambu Labs 3 times in this video. But the K1 stands up to that comparison extremely well. Well worth checking out.
How I’m finding the time to make videos right now I don’t know. As I type this I’m working on Christmas gifts and preparing for Designer Con.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who finds themselves knee deep in projects they should have been done with a month ago. For me it’s using the mutlicolor capabilities of my 3 AMS systems to make deluxe versions of not only the Christmas Tree featured in the video, but also multicolor version of the newly released Low Poly Pocket Nativity, so called because it’ll pack into itself and fit in a pocket, so you can have Christmas anywhere you are.
Designer Con is something I… can’t say I’m prepared for. I mean, I’m packed and bought my ticket, but I have no idea what to expect, or what I’m hoping to get out of it. I’m going with the idea of farming ideas for future projects, but I’m hoping something else will happen. I’m hoping against all odds I’ll find someone with a lot of money who wants to pay me to work full time to get my ideas on store shelves. Baring that I’m hoping to find someone who will be willing to pay me full time to get their ideas on store shelves, on my unreasonable terms. Baring that, I hope I make a friend who makes toys so I can pick their brain and learn from them at arms length.
But I did make some business cards. I used my inkjet printer to print them because, just like with my toy designs, I don’t believe in large scale manufacturing when I don’t really know what the demand is going to be like. That, and I’m putting this together literally last minute, so an order at the local copy shop isn’t really an option now.
We’ll see what comes of my trip. Maybe a bright new future. or maybe an interesting weekend trip.
