Want to win some PrintABloks? Brainstorming 3D Printing Kickstarters Ideas

Watch on YouTube

And of course the day I’m editing this I hear about 3 other fairs I’d like to go to. ERRF announced that they were going to announce a date. MRRF announced they’re going to be June 23-25. The Sanjay Reprap Festival in the UK announced December 2nd and 3rd. That one is less likely, but still. And of course I with I could visit every Makerfair.

While, in this video, I focused on kickstarters based on what I’ve done in the past, I do have some ideas for entirely new campaigns. Here’s a few:

  • High detailed gaming minis themed around famous characters. Not IP violations outright, but skirting that. Characters like:
    • a bat-themed rogue man (or woman?)
    • A mouse headed bard named Mick (this one has levels)
    • He’s a Man, a Barbarian Man
  • Warhammer 40k compatible minis, but all anthropomorphic animal themed
  • All the plastic things in the hardware store
  • Hinged animals that print flat and stand up (I know some people are already doing this, but I’d do all of them!)
  • 3D Printable modular Pinball (Honestly, why is this not already a thing?)

If I want to be advertisting these while at the LA Makerfair and RMRRF, I really need to start working on these now. I’ve got, like, a month.
