I said in the video that the Artemis is a good printer, and that is still true. In fact, by the numbers, it’s a better printer than the Adventurer 3.
So why do I still feel like this isn’t going to make me give up my Adventurer 3, and I’m probably going to keep recommending the Adventurer 3.
One reason for this is that the Adventurer 3 and I have a history. I’ve used dozens of them across 7 libraries in southern Utah for4 years now, and in all that time I’ve had to change a few nozzles (super easy) change a few print heads (way easy), one X-cable replacement (kind of a pain) and otherwise they’ve been used in the most abusive of circumstances successfully and hardly required me to lift a finger. The Artemis, by having a print head that requires me to put my fingers at risk if I ever want to change the nozzle, just doesn’t get that love. The Adventurer 3 requires minimal maintenance , and most of it’s maintenance is effortless. If the Artemis also requires minimal maintenance , having it’s maintenance be a literal pain that needs 3 hands to pull off… I feel it’s okay if I don’t love that.
Plus, the Adventurer 3 has yet to drop it’s wifi.
I wanted the Artemis to be better than the Adventurer 3. And I think for many people it is exactly that. Again, it’s a good printer and I expect this will run for years and maintenance will be not unbearable. I just can’t recommend it over the Adventurer 3, in the general case.
