3D Print Cosplay Helmets Fast and Light with the JGMaker Artist D pro

Watch on YouTube

About midway through editing this video I said to myself “I need to get to the point”. That’s the reason for the voice over review. But, of course, I could release the extended review. Don’t know if anyone cares, but, hey, I got it anyways. Free views. Which is good because it’s probably going to be a while till my next video. Just like it was a while since my last one.

Do I apologize too much when these videos take a long time to come out? Sorry about that. It’s just that I’ve been working on a curriculum for an online school to teach 3D printing to kids and that’s taking quite a bit of my time. But, while I don’t really have time to record videos for YouTube, I’m still working on projects during the day.

Of course there’s the Cylon helmet which, if anyone cares, I could totally do another video about either the electronics or the experiments in faux chrome plating. But considering how well my last project centered video went over (hit my stats like a sack of bricks), I’m hesitant to do another.

And PrintABlok is also getting some more development, as seen in the video. I’m trying to get ahead a little on the development, and this latest set, a sci-fi quad copter, is defiantly the best yet. Lots of greebles.

And then there’s the arm mounted 3D printer project which… has blown up. Even got a mention on Hackaday. And this is kinda a multi-leveled problem for me. On the first level, as I said before, I didn’t plan on doing any more project centric videos. So I stopped recording footage of working on my projects, and it’s been quite freeing. I’m able to actually finish stuff now. However, I feel like the meteoric popularity of this project it means I need to do a project video for it, which means the video that this project was going to be a side note in now needs to be changed. And, lastly, the $100 EasyThreed K7 that I’m using in this project… needs some maintenance. It’s losing the ability to finish prints. Plus, this was the prototype. There’s lots of things about this model that I would really love to change, but that means starting over. So I suppose now I have the opportunity to record some times lapses and build videos.

So it’s gonna be a little while before the video comes out now. But when it does, It’ll be for the V2 arm mounted 3D printer.

And it’ll probably be printed on the Artist-D Pro. If I can find some time on it between plates of PrintABloks.
