PLA. That’s the answer. Get PLA to start with. Get PLA, avoid ABS, try out PET, then go to the exotics.
This video is for beginners in 3D printing. A lot of new 3D printer users are still asking some basic questions and I get them frequently, and when that happens, that’s when I know there needs to be a video. But, I feel like there could be an “Advanced” video as well where I go over Poly Carbonate, Nylon, Tauman910, and others. The problem is I don’t actually use those very much. I’m just too busy with my hands full from using stuff PLA and PET is good for. And most other people I know are the same way. I don’t know hardly anyone who’s been 3D printing for any length of time who regularly uses anything but PLA or PET. I know some people who have given up on PLA in favor of PET, but I don’t know anyone who will say “Yeah, I do all my printing in PC these days.” Even Tauman910, as good as that stuff is, as relatively easy to print with as it is, it’s just too expensive for regular use. PLA or PET is cheap enough that you don’t think twice about using it, you just throw it in your printer and go.
