I like having the ability to smooth my prints with so much more ease than before. But just like before some things are better left without the smooth finish of an acetone sauna. Such was the case when I printed another pair of CoinAge boards. I decided to smooth one of them to see if it would improve it.
It’s hard to say that one is better than the other at first glance. But the more I experiment with them both the more I prefer the unsmoothed one. The only quantifiable thing I can say is that coins don’t stay as well on the smoothed surface. But aside from that I just dint like the smothed one as much.
However I made two of them because one is a gift, and being the nice guy I am I’m going to keep the glossy finished one.
