It seems like every couple of months some print becomes unstuck and wraps itself around the print head, getting stuck to the ceramic tape wrap. Removing the blob destroys the insulation. Last time I wrapped the whole thing with a metal tape that I thought ABS would stick to less than it sticks to kapton. But in this case the print got around the edge and ripped it up. Not much would have helped.
And just like every time this happens it’s a couple of days before I can get the repair done, then it’s a couple of days adjusting the nozzles. I’ve done the repair and used the last of my ceramic tape in the process. Maybe it’s time to explore other insulating options.
